Our 12 GA flechette shotgun ammunition is assembled using our patented M1 sabot with new roll stabilized flechettes, new hulls, and premium powder. Each assembled round features the latest iteration of the patented M1 sabot holding the 19 small arms grade flechettes points forward. The M1 sabot is designed for bore safe protection of the weapons barrel and for consistant flechettes release performance. It maintains the flechettes critical bore alignment and release consistancy for performance unattainable by homemade type loads using birdshot wads, granulated fillers, and card closures.
Our flechette sabot ammunition weighs approximately half that of conventional 9 ball lead 00-buckshot cartridges, allowing you to carrying twice as many rounds of our flechette ammo for the same weight in buckshot. Our flechette sabot ammo with 19 steel flechettes have 211 percent more projectiles than conventional 9 ball lead 00-buckshot, with an equally higher probability of kill (P/K) or incapacitating hit (I/H) at all your engagement ranges. Our small arms grade flechettes are hundreds of times more aerodynamically efficient than the antiquated deformed lead balls fired from buckshot, and have superior penetration performance and accuracy at all engagement ranges for soft targets.
The flechettes packed into our M1 sabot are new production roll stabilized steel projectiles hardened to Rockwell C45 that we manufacture specifically for this ammunition. The specially formed fins induce a roll rate that immediately stabilizes the flechette after released from the sabot for reduced dispersal and yawing, giving improved grouping on your target. With sharper and more concentric points, stronger shafts, and thicker fins our small arms grade flechettes insure higher performance and longer ranges than normally seen in this type of ammunition. The commonly available surplus flechettes salvaged from canister munitions are generally inferior for small arms use. Their defects include poor hardness, weak fins, shafts that bend when fired in a shotgun shell, and points that are often non-concentric and dull - this adds up to extreme yawing and dispersal around the target providing generally poor terminal effects.
Don't confuse our flechette sabot ammo with other flechette products that use surplus canister grade flechettes and granulated filler packing or nose-to-tail packing in birdshot wads that can ruin your shotgun's bore and throat. Our sabot protects your bore from damage and insures high performance.
PUMP ACTION FUNCTION
Our M1 12 GA flechette shotgun ammunition was designed for the Mossberg M-590 military shotgun and functions best in pump-action shotguns with the cylinder bore choke found in most govenment service or security shotguns having barrel lengths from 6 to 20 inches.
SEMI-AUTOMATIC FUNCTION
Our M1 12 GA flechette shotgun ammunition will also function is some gas operated shotguns such as:
For semi-automatic gas assisted recoil and inertia operated shotguns like the Remington 11-87, Mossberg 930, Benelli M-2 or similar weapons choose our patent pending M3A1 semi-automatic flechette shotgun ammunition (POR).
SIGHTS
Our flechette shotgun ammunition performs like a slug untill the projectiles are released from the sabot. A bead front sight will work adequately for most engagements to 40 meters with practice. For increased accuracy at point target range of 45 meters and beyond we recommend adjustable aperture sights or an optical sights zeroed to your engagement range. Sights should have a preliminary zero at 20 meters with rifled slugs or a laser bore sighter before final adjustment using flechettes.
AIMPOINTS
Aimpoints for ranges up to 20 meters should be slightly lower (10-12 inches) than center of mass, at 40 meters aimpoint should be center of mass, and at 60 meters and beyond top of mass adjusted upward for drop compensation. Roll stabilized flechettes tend to drift to right from their rotation so aim slightly to the left of mass at ranges beyond 20 meters. These are general recommendations for aimpoints and if you are unfamilar with flechette ammunition we suggest you start at 5 to 10 meters and adjust your aiming accordingly for drop and pull.
CHOKES
Our flechette sabot shotgun ammunition works best with cylinder bore or improved cylinder bore chokes with a recommended bore diameter is 0.725 inches, chokes smaller than recommended may disrupt the sabot assembly and give inconsistant results and patterns. Rifled barrels or rifled chokes will yeild a widely dispersed pattern at close ranges due to sabot spin-up from the rifling and subsequent radial dispersal upon release of the flechette projectiles.
Our 410 GA flechette shotgun ammunition has a muzzle velocity of 1750 feet per second with 7 new production roll stabilized 1 inch 8 grain steel flechettes heat treated to Rockwell C 45, packed in a patented sabot with all flechettes pointing forward for optimum performance and penetration. The roll stabilized flechettes have superior grouping and accuracy at all ranges with reduced yawing and increased point impacts on target. This products averages a 5 inch group at 7 yards and a 16 inch group at 25 yards.
